Psychopomps - OUT NOW 〰️
Zachary O’Shea is a horror author and tabletop RPG designer.
Psychopomps, Book 2 of the Crimson Threads series is out now!
Zachary O’Shea lives sometimes in the Land of Neon Sunrises and other times in the Great White North
There’s something about the stark differences between the American Southwest and Northern Ontario that he can’t resist. Spoiler; it’s his wife. He has spent his life telling stories from absurd coloring book creations as a child, to a lifelong passion for game-mastering role-playing games, and occasionally dipping a toe into horror fiction.
When he’s not writing, which is honestly rare, Zachary is spending time with his family, running a role-playing game session, or blowing off some steam in an MMO. Though, he’s usually writing something in stolen moments even in between all of this.
Psychopomps
Determination. Skill. Manipulation. Blinded by hubris, he sets horror into motion for fame.
Dr. Crawford toys with the thin veil between life and death, driven by pride and insecurity. Throwing caution and morality to the wind, the scientist presses forward with his dangerous experiments at the Harte Asylum. He has a contract to fulfill no matter the cost.
Emily ferries mortals, monsters, and stranger things along the nation's highways. Her latest assignment brings her into the orbit of the Harte Asylum but it will propel her into vistas unknown. The walls between realms are there for a reason and woe to those who dare puncture them.
From the damned depths of an asylum to blood-soaked highways and beyond, Psychopomps is a relentless ride alongside the living and the dead. It all starts with an itch one can't seem to scratch.
Book 2 in the Crimson Threads series.
The tapestry of fate is a frayed and fragile thing...
What has been woven cannot be undone.
Grease Paint
Beginnings. Recklessness. Spontaneity. Without purpose, she drifts through life like an autumn leaf on the wind.
Harper Parson stumbles through her 20-somethings, distracted by one unfinished dream after another. To avoid her foolish nature catching up with her for a few days longer, Harper embarks on an ill-fated backpacking trip with her brother and childhood friends into the Thornwoods.
Dark folklore drips from the forest's barbed boughs. While the bloody tales give Harper second thoughts, a chance to make a play on her crush, Conrad, just can't be passed up.
All too soon, the Thornwoods' sinister nature proves true. A killer stalks the foggy woods.
His face is smeared white. His attire better suits a carnival. His axe is sharp and eager. Yet. not all is what it seems under the misty canopy.
Harper will need all her passion and wits to see herself and her friends through this trial alive.
What is woven cannot be undone.
Best Served Cold
You died too young. You died a terrible death. You died with unfinished business. You died with hate in your heart.
You didn’t lay quiet.
The psychopomps dredged you from your grave, repaired your mortal coil, and now protect you from damage that would slay the living. Not that you are alive anymore. Oh no, you are a walking, talking corpse fueled by retribution. You will have your bloody revenge and woe to those who stand in your way. The psychopomps, in the form of a collection of animals, keep watch over you. Kill an innocent, sink into ennui, or abandon your vengeance and they may just cut your springs. You don’t want to return to the worms without making those bastards pay, do you?
Of course not.
